Annapolis Running Shop started out as Gotta Run in April of 2005 on Main Street Annapolis. In 2008, operator Jon Line and co-owner Megan Moore changed the name to Annapolis Running Shop and moved the store to its current location on 172 Main Street in Annapolis. In September of 2013, current owners and longtime Wednesday Night Group Runners Ryan and Jenny Seth took over Annapolis Running Shop. Throughout the years, Annapolis Running Shop has remained loyal to the local Annapolis running scene. Annapolis Running Shop has also remained fiercely independent throughout the years.
Our shop staff is the best. We have Paula ("the ultra junkie" and High School Coach), Dawn (the RRCA coach and professor) , Sydney (the Annapolis High XC runner), Henry (our RRCA coach and Marathoner), James (our Tulane U. student and cross country extraordinaire), Lee (our Master Runner Coach and Ironman), Madi (our bubbly free spirited runner and Yogi), and Avery (our Annapolis High XC runner and LAX player). All of our staff are friendly, knowledgeable, experienced, and able to fit your running needs.
Ryan, Henry and Dawn are RRCA certified coaches and Paula coaches the local high school cross country and distance track team. Lee is a Master Runner coach and leads the Annapolis Striders track workouts. We love to talk about running and to help give anyone advice interested in starting in running. There are so many options to get started. Before signing up for a 5K training program and spending hundreds come in and talk with us first! We believe running is a journey, not a 10 week program.
Annapolis Running Shop also hosts the areas popular Wednesday Night Group Run. These runs start at 7:00 pm and generally go for 4 to 6 miles (about an hour depending on your pace). We usually go to Rams Head Tavern for drinks and stories after. All paces are welcome and we strongly encourage anyone to attend.
If you are visiting Annapolis, or are local and want to experience a scenic downtown run take a look at our local running maps. Many of these routes are the same ones used during our Wednesday night runs.
Whether you prefer the local running club, a triathlon club, or would prefer a trail club, Annapolis has it all. These are great resources to start you journey in running. We also try to update the areas local running races as well as list results from the events.
At Annapolis Running Shop we love to have fun and run your ARS off!
